K-12 Plus' Anton Sayo joins TESDA officials in recognizing 2015 Kabalikat Awardees

GIZ Senior Technical Adviser to the K-12 Plus Program and Co-Chair of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce's Tech Voc Committe, Anton Sayo, together with Tesda chief Joel Villanueva, TESDA Deputy Director General Irene Isaac and other TESDA officials, joined Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr on Tuesday, August 25 to honor and recognize 2015 Idols ng TESDA at the "Kabalikat Awards Araw ng Parangal" held at the TESDA Auditorium in Taguig City."TESDA fasttracked training, skills development and proper preparation for jobs in a short time to answer the needs of industries and businesses that could not be met a largely academic number of graduates. In fact, by the time President Benigno Aquino III landed at Malacanang more than five years ago, only 30 percent of the job hires were qualified in the business processing operations as well as other crafts and trade. TESDA corrected the job mismatch," said Coloma in an article by PTV. The “Kabalikat Award” gives due recognition to the agency’s outstanding partners in the promotion and enhancement of TVET. It is conferred to outstanding institutions, private firms and companies, local government units and legislative partners because of their good practices and contribution in the promotion and development of Filipino skilled workers.
