Metalworking Cluster Immersion Fair

The K to 12 Plus Project Metalworking Cluster of San Pedro Relocation Center National High School held an Immersion Fair on April 4, 2017 where students were able to showcase their skills to the companies where they could apply for for their 300-hour and 800-hour immersions.

This summer, the companies participating in the immersion of the students are: AAJ Fabrication and Machine Shop; ACME Tools Mfg. Co., Inc.; CLP Industries Co.; JVV Precision Machine Shop; MESCO; MHE-Demag; Rollmaster Machinery; Samso-Tite Plastics, Inc.; Stampform; and VJF Precision Toolings Corp.

Cebu Food Manufacturing Cluster Graduation Rites

April 7, 2017 in Cebu City - 24 pilot students of the K to 12 Plus Project for Food Manufacturing Cluster graduate from the Senior High School Program held at Barrio Luz National High School. Project Partners Meeting on Master Manual

Project partners of the K to 12 Plus Project met on March 20 to discuss the creation of the Master Manuals which was led by ISTE Mr. David Lythe.

Present in the event was former TESDA Director General Ms. Irene Isaac who gave her insights on how to improve the proposed Master Manual of Mr. Lythe.

Also present in the event are partners from the German Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI), Philippine Chamber of Commerce and industry (PCCI), Microfinance sector, AOS, and GIZ.

Mr. David Lythe is currently in the country to help the authors of the manuals to be written per Project cluster.

Laiya Cluster Conducts its Second Immersion Phase

The K to 12 Plus Project Laiya Hospitality Cluster conducted its second immersion fair last March 15 where more than 220 senior high school students participated.

Sixteen partner resorts attended the fair where a total of 140 immersion places were opened to cater to the dualized training offered in partnership with the Project.

The Immersion Fair is part of the Project's continuous effort to promote and support the Dualized Education here in the Philippines. Under the unique dualized approach of training in hospitality, students will have four National certificates, one Senior High School (SHS), and a Basic Chamber Certificate after four semesters.

The K to 12 Plus Project hopes to continue and grow this relation of the school and the industry to help the country in addressing the skills gap.
