K to 12 Plus Projects meets with HEIs for proposal to amend EO 285

The K to 12 Plus Project and the PCCI Human Resources Development Foundation (PCCI HRDF) met with the Commission on Higher Education  (CHED) and other Higher Education providers last August 9 to discuss what further amendments they can propose to improve the EO 285 or The Guidelines Governing the Entry and Stay of Foreign Students in the Philippines.

The focus group discussion which was headed by K to 12 Plus Project’s STE Ryan Evangelista first reviewed the position paper for the EO and later commented on the proposed CMOs of CHED.

The meeting which was held in Microtel Wyndham in Commonwealth, Quezon City was attended by representatives from Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), Jose Rizal University (JRU), and De La Salle University (DLSU).

Representatives from Coordinating Council of Private Educational. Associations (COCOPEA), and Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU) also actively participated in the group discussion.

The group will again meet in September, this time including relevant agencies whose concern is related with foreign students.

Laiya Hospitality Cluster Media Tour

Our friends from Inquirer and ABS-CBN went to the Laiya Hospitality Cluster to learn more about the K to 12 Plus Project's initiative to promote the Dualized Education.

Ms. Linda from Inquirer and Ms. Jenna from ABS-CBN spent the whole day of August 9 in Laiya, Batangas where the team of K to 12 Plus Project showed them the results of the Project.

The team visited the Laiya National High school where they met with its principal Ms. Josephine Rosales.

They also went to partner resorts where the Grade 11 students of the Laiya National High school are currently undergoing their Immersion Phase.

First Chamber Management Workshop in Tugegarao City

Thru the support of the K to 12 Plus Project, the PCCI Human Resources Development Foundation Inc., conducted its first Chamber Management Workshop on August 3.

The workshop which was held at the Crown Pavilion in Tugegarao City is part of the K to 12 Plus Project and PCCI HRDF's efforts to strengthen and provide more support to various business chambers in the Philippines.

PCCI HRDF President Alberto Fenix Jr. led the workshop where he stressed the elements of stable and reliable Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In addition, Fenix briefly discussed the relevance of human resource development and the joint activities of K to 12 Plus Project.

Fenix and the team of PCCI HRDF also attended a trade expo which was held on the morning of the Chamber Management Workshop.

This is the first of the four Chamber Management Workshops. The next workshop will be in Surigao.

Mr. Axel Gerberding Meets with Logistics Company

Mr. Axel Gerberding gathered some of the country's institution in logistics for a consultation meeting with regards to commercial trades.

The meeting which was held on July 20 at the Eagle Express GroupCargo Village Complex in Parañaque City is part of the two week scoping research of Mr. Gerberding.

The research is done in order to identify possible interventions for the K to 12 Senior High School Tech-Voc track.

The sectoral consultation was attended by representatives from Awards Cargo, EMCS, RCL Feeder, SEAJET, and ICPI

President of Eagle Express Mr. Angelito Colona hosted the meeting.

K to 12 Plus Project Expert Mr. Axel Gerberding gathered some of the country's education institution for a consultation meeting with regards to commercial trades.
 
The meeting which was held on July 19 at the PCCI office is part of the two week scoping research of Mr. Gerberding.
 
The research is done in order to identify possible interventions for the K to 12 Senior High School Tech-Voc track.
 
Present in the sectoral consultation are representatives from German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI), IETI School System, ICCT College, Asian Entrepreneur Technical Institute, University of Makati (UMak), Association of Secretaries and Admin Professional in Asia Pacific, and St. Paul University.
