Philippine Education Services Sector Export Roadmap Paper Presentation

The K to 12 Plus Project with the PCCI Human Resources Development Foundation successfully held the paper presentation of the Philippine Education Services Sector Export Roadmap last April 5 at Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas.
The paper presentation was led by Dr. Christopher Stevens, Senior Research Associate of the Overseas Development Institute, London.
Dr. Stevens' paper presentation dealt on the Philippine education sector as an export product. According to Stevens, a roadmap is necessary in order to fully compete with other countries like Malaysia that are robust in promoting this economic sector.
Questions on whether there are things the Philippines can learn from neighboring countries and whether the economy will benefit in a coordinated move to promote educational trade were just some of the questions answered during the forum.
Aside from Dr. Stevens' himself, five other distinguished members were part of the panel. As a representative of the education sector Commission on Higher Education (CHED) International Affairs Director Lily Freida Milla, PCCI Education Committee Chairman Eduardo Ong, founder Henry Motte-Muñoz, and PCCI TVET Committee Chairman Antonio Sayo were present. Also part of the panel as representative of the trade sector was Charmaine De Jesus of the Department of Trade and Industry.
The forum was attended by various relevant people from the academe and from the government.
